Somaliland and Galmudug to hold elections today

GOOBJOOG NEWS: The northern regions of Somaliland and Galmudug are expected to hold elections in Mogadishu and Dhusamareb today.

Major roads and intersections leading to General Kahiye Training School have been closed to enhance security ahead of the planned Lower House elections.

Below are the 4 seats up for grabs in Mogadishu and their incumbents:

Former Deputy Minister of Information Abdirahman Idan Yonis.

Sahro Yusuf Cige.

The Galmudug State elections team will also hold elections for three seats in the city of Dhusamareb today.

Among the seats to be contested for include:  HOP#14, held for the last 9 years by Mahad Mohamed Salad, HOP#055 formerly occupied by Zakariye Hassan Sheikh Ali (Zakariye Gaashaan and HOP#035 seat, which has been occupied for the last few years by Mohamed Abdulle Farah Gesey, the chairman of the House of the People’s Security Committee.
