Mortar shells hit Mogadishu neighbourhoods resulting in casualties

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Several mortar shells, as many as five, were fired this morning at Bondheree and Hamarweyne districts of Banadir Region, resulting in casualties.

Three houses are said to have been hit in the Shabab neighborhood of Casa Italia and near the intersection of Wiilwaal, causing deaths and injuries to civilians.
Witnesses who spoke to the media said three people were killed and three others were injured when their houses were hit by the artillery shells.
According to the witnessess, one person died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment in hospital.
Also, a mortar hit a house near Wilwaal School, injuring at least four people, while a third mortar fell near the Daljirka Dahsoon statue, but luckily it did not explode.
One person was also confirmed dead in a mortar attack that was carried out last night in some districts of Banadir region.
