GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: Puntland parliament has this afternoon unanimously approved a proposal to review the state constitution amid an ongoing fighting between government and opposition-backed forces.
Out of the 35 MPs present, 34 voted in favour one member voted to the contrary. The specific proposed changes to the constitution were not immediately clear.
The opposition has however fiercely objected to the changes accusing outgoing President Abdullahi Deni of seeking to secure an extended stay in office through the changes.
One person was reportedly killed this morning and several others injured as heavy gunfire could be heard in areas near parliament buildings.
