Mudug immigration boss succumbs to injuries sustained in Friday’s gun attack

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GALKAYO: The Mudug Immigration boss, who was wounded in Galkayo by unknown assailants on Friday night, has sadly succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Galkayo.

Ilmi Ali Guled is said to have died of head injuries sustained after unknown gunmen sprayed the senior officer and another young man identified as Irro Haji Ali with bullets leaving them for the dead. 

The young man died on the spot, while Guled was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment only to die a day later.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the killing of the two, including two businessmen who were also killed in a similar version in Mogadishu within the same week.

Galkayo has been the scene of several assassinations that have claimed the lives of several people, with fingers pointed at Al-Shabaab, widely known to execute such killings.
