New MPs who replaced sacked ones take office in Garowe

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: Eight state MPs were today sworn into office by Puntland parliament to replace those who were stripped of their seats last December.
Speaker Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril swore in the new lawmakers who were appointed by their respective clans following the December 3 motion that ended the jobs of eight lawmakers.
According to the motion, the sacked MPs had violated house standing orders although there was no more information on the nature of offences committed by the lawmakers.
But sources privy to the developments told Goobjoog News then the eight MPs were seeking to remove speaker Jibril who in turn marshalled forces to render the lawmakers jobless.
Out of the eight MPs, one is a woman.
The newly appointed MPs are:
- Abdirashiid Mohamud Yusuf
- Mohamed Abdi Farah
- Maryan Osman Fangase
- Faraj Sulub Jaamah
- Mohamed Mohamud Saalah
- Abdiaziz Hussein Mohamud
- Abdiqani Nuur Faarah Muuse
- Abdullahi Mohamed Gurey Mirood
