Nugal regional governor killed in a suicide bomb attack in Garowe, Puntland

A suicide bomber detonated with explosives devices targeted Nugal regional governor’s vehicle blew up near Garowe police headquarter which resulted in casualties and injuries.

Nugal regional governor Abdisalam Hassan Hirsi, who was first injured in the blast later died in Garowe hospital, former Nugal police chief Farah Golangooli was also seriously injured in the attack at Garowe on Sunday night

Puntland police Chief Muhyadin Ahmed Muse told the media that the suicide bomber was on the lookout and is currently conducting various investigations to find the people behind the blast.

Al-Shabab has claimed the responsibility for the explosion and declared that at least some of the Puntland administration officials killed in the attack.
