NUSOJ welcomes cabinet approval of draft media law

The National union of Somali journalists (NUSOJ) welcomed the cabinet approval of the draft media law

Mohamed Ibrahim Pakistan, general secretary of NUSOJ urged the government and its institutions to stick on to the law after the parliament approval adding that the new media bill will enhance development to all Somali people.

Mr Pakistan also said that the approval came after consultations with stakeholders especially media workers.

On Monday Somali Cabinet has passed the new draft media Bill which has been under hot discussion since last week.

The approved bill will submitted to the federal parliament for approval.
