Opening ceremony for regaining Somali airspace kicks off in Mogadishu airport

The opening ceremony of the transfer of airspace to the Somali government is currently taking place today in Aden Abdulle airport in Mogadishu.

The event was opened by the federal Somali president Mohamed Abduulahi Farmaajo.

Participants include regional residents of federal member states, federal ministers, MPs, the civil society and other dignitaries.

It is more than 25 years since lost the management of its airspace following the collapsed of the central government in the early 1990s.
