Over 50 People Rescued From Drowning at Liddo Beach During Eid Festivities-Coast Guard

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Over 50 people were rescued from drowning in the just concluded Eid festivities in Mogadishu’s Liddo beach, police have said.
The Coast Guard unit of the police said its officers rescued over 50 people who were at the risk of drowning while having fun at the popular beach.
The unit said some of the revellers were swept away by water as the tide increased but were brought to safety by officers who were on guard.
Hundreds of Mogadishu residents troop to Lido, Jazeera and Hamarweyne beaches during festivities to celebrate with their families.
