PM Barre Appoints Key Ministry Directors in Government Reshuffle

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has appointed a new group of senior officials to lead key government ministries, in a move aimed at strengthening institutional performance and service delivery.

The appointments, made in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia, see Yusuf Ali Mohamed named Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defense, while Mohamed Saney Dalmar takes over as Director General of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

Abdifatah Abdiqaadir Farah has been appointed Director General of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, and Guuleed Abdijaliil Ali will serve as Director General of the Ministry of Livestock, Plants and Fertilizer.

In addition, Yusuf Hassan Isaaq has been named Director General of the Ministry of Health and Social Care, while Mohamed Hassan Shire assumes the role of Director General at the Ministry of Internal Security.

The reshuffle is seen as a move by the federal government to improve coordination across ministries and accelerate the implementation of the government’s reform agenda, as Somalia continues efforts to strengthen public institutions and deliver key services.
