 PM Barre calls on Somali People to Unite, Shun tribal conflicts

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia PM Hamza Abdi Barre has appealed to the Somali people to unite and shun tribal related conflicts and back the government forces in its ongoing war against the Al-Shabaab militants.

The prime minister said the Al-Shabaab militant group is responsible for fanning clan conflicts to divert the focus of government forces from their offensive against the militant group.

Barre promised that the federal government will take a firm actions against anyone who is found to be involved in working clan feuds.

“Many of the troops that we would have sent to other jobs are busy bringing peaceful dialogue between the Somali community and the enemy is the source of the conflicts, the Somali people are required to make a firm decision and grow from clan politics, he said.

The Prime minister said that Somali people should not be shedding their blood in political or communal wars that can be resolved through ceasefire urge the community to back the country in liberating the country from Al-Shabab.
