PM Barre Says Government to Continue Supporting Local Investors

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal republic of Somalia prime minister Hamza Abdi Barre has said the government will continue supporting the Somali business community by creating new business opportunities so as to develop the country’s economy.

The Prime minister while on a visit to Darusalaam district accompanied by other government officials to meet residents who were celebrating the Eid festival noted that Mogadishu now enjoys improved peace and security.

He noted the improved development and beautification of Darusalaam district and encouraged Somali businessmen to continue investing in the country so as to expedite development and boost the nation’s economic growth.

“I am calling on all Somali businessmen to stand up for their country’s development and invest, as the country is peaceful, and there are investment opportunities that lead to economic development and job creation, making the country prosperous,” he said.

The move comes amidst the federal government’s efforts to improve security in the country’s capital Mogadishu and other parts of the country so as to create a favorable environment for investment.
