PM Hamza Announces Formation of new Commission to Support Somalia’s Candidate for AUC Leadership
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has announced the formation of an African Union Commission (AUC) Election Campaign Committee to support Somalia’s candidate, Fowziya Yusuf Haji Adam, in her bid for senior leadership within the AUC.
The campaign committee led by Finance Minister Bihi Egeh, includes Information Minister Daud Aweis, Petroleum Minister Abdirizak Mohamed, Public Works Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali (Dhay), acting Foreign Minister Ali Omar, and Minister Abdullahi Ahmed Jama.
The Committee is tasked with with rallying international support for MP Fawzia Yusuf Haji Adam’s candidacy.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre expressed confidence in MP Fawzia Yusuf Haji Adam’s qualifications and leadership abilities, emphasizing the importance of Somalia’s representation at the senior levels of the African Union Commission.
The formation of the campaign committee underscores the government’s commitment to supporting its candidate and actively participating in continental leadership roles.
