President Bihi discusses elections with EU Ambassador to Somalia

GOOBJOOG NEWS|HARGEISA: Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, today received in his office the European Union Ambassador to the Federal Government of Somalia, Tiina Intelmann accompanied by Swedish Ambassador Amb. Per Lindgarde and Maria Groeneveld from the EU Office in Nairobi.

The meeting discussed the upcoming elections due in November and the drought that has severely affected communities in the region and how the European Union can help the Somaliland government respond to the pressing situation.

President Bihi, who was accompanied by members of the Council of Ministers, thanked the European Union for the support it has continued to extend to Somaliland and reiterated his government’s commitment to uphold the existing ties it has held with the European Union.
