President Deni declared to eliminate terrorists in the region at his inauguration speech
The newly elected President of Somalia’s northeastern state of Puntland Said Abdullahi Deni declared that his government will eliminate terrorism in the region during his inaugural speech on Saturday.
Addressing crowds that included the current and former Somali presidents, Somalia’s federal state leaders, prominent politicians and foreign dignitaries who attended a well-organized ceremony held at Garowe the capital of Puntland state President Deni highlighted the most pressing issues ahead for his administration.
The rebuilding of the security sector is a paramount nature and his administration will carry forward a zero-tolerance policy to eliminate Al-Shabaab and ISIS in the region.
On Puntland natural resources and investment opportunities, Deni told that the untapped resources in Puntland would be a crucial economic agenda that requires greater effort and inclusive cooperation.
“Encouraging equal investment from the outside world and Diaspora communities is a key priority for my administration,” he said.
While putting the security ahead of his economic pledges, President Deni said that his government will upgrade transport infrastructure such as roads, airports and ports, the main element of creating the thriving economic environment is peace and tranquillity and atmosphere conducive for investment.
President Deni has also addressed issues related to the promotion of laws and regulations, the restructuring of the state institutions in Puntland, the implementation of multi-sectoral policies, the strengthening of administrative decentralization, the implementation of the federal system and other important issues.
Lastly, president Deni has called the people of Puntland to closely work with his new administration in order to prosper peace and stability in the region.
