President Gudlawe tours Beletweyne Hospital days after bomb blast ripped the facility
GOOBJOOG NEWS/BELETWEYNE: Hirshabelle State President, Ali Gudlawe visited Beletweyne town today to assess the scale of destruction caused by the twin blasts in the town that killed 48 people including MP Amina Mohamed, on 23 March.
The Hirshabelle Head of State, accompanied by Hiran Governor, Ali Jeyte Osman, inspected Beletweyne Hospital which was hardest hit by the bomb blast.
The second of the twin deadly bombings that hit Beletweyne on March 23 targeted medical evacuation teams and went off at the entrance of the only public hospital in Hiiraan region causing most of the 48 deaths and reducing the hospital into a shell.
President Gudlawe also inspected business premises which were destroyed when the blast targeting the hospital went off, and called on the Federal Government, the people of Hirshabelle and the wider Somali community to rebuild the hospital whose operations came to a standstill after it fell into debris.
