President Mohamud Chairs High-Level Security Meeting in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Wednesday chaired a high-level security meeting in Mogadishu.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, top security chiefs from the military and police and Banadir Region’s governor and mayor of Mogadishu Yusuf Madale among other government officials.

According to sources privy to the details of the meeting, discussions centered around ways of bolstering security in the capital, Mogadishu and its environs by enhancing counter terrorism efforts and combating organized crime.

The Banadir Region’s Governor briefed the meeting of the progress made by security officers in the capital and further plans to enhance security so as to create better living conditions for the residents and create a favorable business environment for both locals and foreign investors.

President Mohamud’s government has been keen to resolve the emerging security  challenges facing the capital city.
