President Mohamud Holds Talks with UAE Delegation to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Thursday held a high-level meeting with a delegation led by UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen the strategic partnership between Somalia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During the meeting, Minister Al Nahyan delivered a special message from UAE President Mohammed Bin Zayed, reaffirming the strong ties and commitment to cooperation between the two nations.
The visit builds on a recent phone conversation between Presidents Mohamud and Bin Zayed, in which they discussed strengthening bilateral relations and regional solidarity.
President Mohamud expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s unwavering support, acknowledging its role in Somalia’s development, security, and humanitarian efforts. He emphasized that the UAE remains a key partner in Somalia’s path to stability and economic progress.
Minister Al Nahyan, in turn, thanked the Somali government for the warm reception and reaffirmed Abu Dhabi’s commitment to strengthening historic ties between the two nations. He underscored the importance of collaboration in fostering regional stability, economic growth, and security cooperation.
The UAE has long been a crucial ally in Somalia’s reconstruction efforts, providing humanitarian aid, security assistance, and investment in infrastructure projects.
