President Mohamud in Cairo on Official Visit

GOOBJOOG NEWS | CAIRO: Federal government of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is in Egypt on an official visit where he is scheduled to hold talks with his counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The two leaders will hold bilateral talks aimed at enhancing counter terrorism efforts and boost cooperation on regional security and stability in a bid to reinforce collaboration in addressing pressing security challenges across the region.

The discussions will also focus on enhancing economic development, promoting trade, and fostering investment as the two nations work towards prioritizing initiatives to expand opportunities for trade exchange and economic partnership.

President Mohamud expressed gratitude to President el-Sisi for the warm invitation and Egypt’s consistent support for Somalia.

He highlighted the enduring ties between the two nations, rooted in brotherhood, strategic cooperation, and shared interests for the well-being of their peoples.
