President Mohamud Pays Tribute to Late Businessman Mohamed Farah Jiis

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal government of Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has expressed condolences following the death of prominent businessman Mohamed Farah Jiis, describing him as a key figure in the country’s economic and peacebuilding efforts.

In a statement, Mohamud extended sympathy to the family, relatives and the wider Somali community, praising the late entrepreneur’s contributions to national development.

The president said Farah Jiis played an important role in supporting peace initiatives, rebuilding state institutions and advancing economic growth in Somalia.

“The Somali people… are deeply saddened by the loss of Mohamed Farah Jiis, a patriotic businessman who devoted his resources to peacebuilding and national reconstruction,” the statement said.

Mohamud also prayed for mercy upon the deceased and called for patience and strength for his family and the Somali people during the mourning period.
