President Mohamud Sends Condolences to Kenya After Tragic Military Helicopter Crash

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Republic of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has sent a condolence message to the Republic of Kenya following the crash of a military helicopter that claimed the lives of Kenya’s Chief of Defense Forces, General Francis Omondi Ogolla, and several other military personnel.

The president conveyed his message to Kenyan president William Ruto through a phone call after receiving news of the tragic accident that occurred in Elgeyo Marakwet County in the Western region of the East African nation.

He expressed Somalia’s solidarity with Kenya during this difficult time, emphasizing the shared grief felt by both nations.

The tragic incident occurred when a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) helicopter crashed in Sindar, Elgeyo-Marakwet County.

President Ruto in atelevised speech to the nation Thursday evening confirmed the passing of General Ogolla and announced three days of national mourning to honor the fallen military personnel.
