Puntland VP sacks two ministers following yesterday’s deadly fighting in Bosaso
GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: Puntland Vice President Ahmed Karaash has dismissed two Putlland ministers a day after fierce fighting rocked the coastal town of Bosaso.
Hussein Osman Lugatoor Gebiley (minister of civil aviation) and Ahmed Yasin Salah (minister of Ports) have been sacked following yesterday’s incident in Bosaso that saw more than 10 people dead, including government soldiers.
According to the Puntland government, the vacant posts left by the two will be filled by their deputies on an interim basis.
Chaos broke out yesterday when Lower House speaker Saadiya Yasin was barred from delivering humanitarian supplies by authorities in Bosaso, Puntland. Forces allied to President Abdullahi Deni blocked the Speaker, sparking a clash with Puntland Security Forces who backed the Speaker, leading to a fierce fight that resulted in deaths and injuries.
