Puntland unveils gov’t training institute, to train 1000 civil servants in collaboration with Kenya
GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: One thousand civil servants in Puntland will soon undergo capacity development programme in a joint venture between the Government of Kenya and Puntland state.
This follows the unveiling of the Puntland Institute of Public Administration.
Puntland President Abdullahi Deni inveiled the institute Sunday noting it will transform the public service in Puntland and contribute to improved professional management.
“The Institute of Public Administration and Management in conjunction with Kenya School of Government will train civil servants in Puntland,” said Deni. “We have come a long way since the days Puntland civil service was characterised by incompetence and poor understanding of public services. Puntland State government has finalised civil service grade system for our employees.”
Deni added that 1000 civil servants will now undergo training in the new training centre.
