Puntland vice president dismisses election committee appointed by president Deni

Puntland Vice President Ahmed Elmi Osman (Ahmed Karaash) has dismissed the Puntland election commission appointed by Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni as he has not been consulted.

A statement from the office of the vice president of Puntland addressed to the House of Representatives and notified the Attorney General of the Supreme Court and the Attorney General of Puntland government, that President Deni has appointed Puntland Electoral Commission without his consultation.

The vice president also dismissed the nomination of the Puntland Electoral Commission as he affirmed that it does not comply with the Puntland Constitution which requires the vice president to be consulted.

The president of the semi-autonomous state of Puntland has yesterday appointed an election committee consisting of nine members.
