Qardho police boss shot dead in operation against drug dealers

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GARDHO: Qardho district police chief Omar Hirad Kartun has been shot dead this morning in the town of Qardho during a police operation against drug dealers and users.

Karkar Governor Abdi Said, has confirmed the news without providing further details. 

Reports indicate that the slain officer met his death after an operation to rid the town of drug dealers and users turned violent, resulting in the shooting to death of the senior officer. 

Police are said to be in hot pursuit of the killers of the Qardho police boss, said to have gone into hiding immediately after committing the crime.
