Qatar Airways Opens Office in Mogadishu to Enhance Travel Services for Somali Passengers

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Qatar airways has opened its first office in Somalia marking a major step in enhancing its travel services to the Somali passengers.

The new office in Mogadishu will facilitate travel services, customer support, and business trip arrangements for government officials, business travelers, and members of the Somali diaspora.

“The office will facilitate passenger’s needs, such as in-person assistance for passengers who need help navigating their travel plans or have specific questions regarding their itineraries,” a government statement stated.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Qatar Airways’ Head of Sales Bashiir Daahir said the office is now fully operational in Mogadishu adding that the airline took the step in a bid to bring its services closer to Somali customers and improve their travel experience.

Deputy Prime Minister Abdisalaam Dhaay praised Qatar Airways for the move and thanked the Qatari government for its commitment to supporting the Somali people through various projects that contribute positively to Somalia’s economic reconstruction and development.

Qatar Airways currently operates to over 160 destinations worldwide and has been ranked as one of the best airlines globally.

The opening ceremony was attended by several government officials, including Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Abdisalaam Dhaay and members of the Council of Ministers along with other senior government officials and diplomats, including Qatar’s Ambassador to Somalia, inaugurated the Grand Opening of the Qatar airways Sales Office Agent in Somalia.
