Reconciliation Conference in Hiran Set for Extension

BaladweyneA tribal reconciliation conference in Baladweyne which is nearing to its completion is set for extension according to our correspondents in the city.

The technical committee of the conference has announced that the process was scheduled to end on 21st June, 2015.

Elder Ahmed Abdulle Jimale who the chair of the committee has told Goobjoog Peace building radio program that they might ask for extension as some clans in Hiran are still outside the process.

“We original planned that the conference would end on 21st June, but we might ask for extention” he said.

He mentioned two clans are still outside the peace process and mediators are still busy convincing them to join the conference.

The conference has commenced on 1st May , 9 clans are in attendance in a bid to reconcile between them, this is a requirement before state formation conference could be held.
