Residents in the newly captured areas by SNA and AMISOM in desperate situation

The residents in the most newly captured areas by government forces and AMISOM in South and Central Somalia are in desperate humanitarian crisis as officials confirmed.

The administration of Lower Shabelle region stated that many people who fled their houses after operation Indian Ocean launched in the region are faced with severe food shortages.

Social services vice chairman of Lower Shabelle region Omar Mohamed Elmi giving exclusive interview to Goobjoog FM said the humanitarian aid agencies have significantly declined to deliver emergency aid to the needy people.

Omar underlined that its upon the federal government to deliver emergency support to the affected people

Fighting and conflicts have disrupted aid delivery in some areas of Southern Somalia therefore worsening the humanitarian crises caused by prolonged drought in the region.
