Roadside Explosions Kill at Least Five Puntland Soldiers in Bari Region
GOOBJOOG NEWS | GAROWE: At least five Puntland State soldiers were killed on Tuesday and others injured when their military vehicles struck roadside bombs at the Al-Miskaat Mountains in Bari Region.
The incident occurred as Puntland forces were conducting operations against ISIS militants in the mountainous region, an offensive that has been ongoing since last month.
The attack comes amid intensified efforts by Puntland forces, which recently led to the liberation of Dharin, an area in Togjacel within the mountains that had been an ISIS stronghold.
Several ISIS militants have been killed and others injured in these operations, which have been supported by the United States Air Force through targeted strikes that eliminated high-ranking ISIS commanders.
ISIS has maintained strongholds in various parts of the Al-Miskaat Mountains, but the ongoing operations mark a significant step toward restoring stability and security in the region.
