Senior Al-Shabaab Commanders Among Militants Killed in Airstrike in Galgaduud

GOOBJOOG NEWS | GALGADUUD: Senior Al-Shabaab commanders have been killed in an airstrike conducted by the Somali National Army backed by its international allies targeting the militants’ bases in Galgadud Region in Central Somalia.

Military sources indicated that the attack which targeted the largest bases in Galhareeri district happened at a time when many members of the terror group were at the base.

The report added that the National Forces are still continuing with the operation and a full report on the number of militants killed will be released later.

Galhareiri is among the militant’s strongholds and the Somali National Army together with its international allies have intensified its campaigns aimed at liberating the area from the group.

The Federal Government has continued its heavy offensive against the militants in the central regions of Somalia where president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has declared war against the group.
