SNA clears main road previously under Al-Shabaab control for the last 13 years
GOOBJOOG NEWS|BELETWEYNE: The Somali National Army has cleared the main road between Bulburde and Beletweyne districts in Hiran region, following security operations that have been going on in the region since morning.
The road, which has been for the last 13 years under the control of Al-Shabaab terrorists, was successful cleared by the government forces in support of locals, according to SNA top officials who spoke to State Media.
The latest success story comes hours after the government security forces, with the help of local militia, retook the village of Booco in the region of Hiran, which had been under the control of the East African based Al-Qaeda group for the last 13 years.
