SNA Forces’ Operation Targets Al-Shabaab Bases in Hiraan Region

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali National Army backed by local forces Wednesday launched an attack against the Al-Shabaab militants’ strongholds at Buula Burte district in Hiraan region.

Official government sources said the operation by the joint destroyed several bases and equipment belonging to the militant group.

“A number of bases where Al-Shabaab was hiding in Beera Yabaal locality, in the Buula Burte district in the Hiiraan region, have been obliterated,” government sources stated.   

The officers leading the operation emphasized their commitment to continuing such operations to thwart future Al-Shabaab attacks and plots.

The operation is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to eliminate the militant group from all parts of Somali and restore peace and stability in the country.
