SNA Forces Repel Al-Shabaab Attack in Hiran Region

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali National Army (SNA) forces, backed by local militias, engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Shabaab militants on Tuesday in the Beera Yabaal area of the Hiran region.

According to military sources, the fighting erupted when Al-Shabaab militants launched an attack on an SNA base near Beera Yabaal in the Bula Burte district.

The army successfully pushed back the assault, though the number of casualties remains unconfirmed, with no official statements from government forces or local residents.

The clash comes amid intensified military operations in the Hiran region, where nearly 100 Al-Shabaab fighters have been killed in recent weeks as Somali forces continue their offensive against the group.

The Somali government has vowed to sustain its military campaign to weaken Al-Shabaab’s presence in central and southern Somalia.
