SNA forces with back up from locals kill 45 Al-Shabaab fighters in Hiran region

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BELETWEYNE: The Somali government has announced the killing of 45 Al-Shabaab fighters by the National Army forces in collaboration with the local people in the Yasooman area of the Bula-burde district, Hiran region.

The National Defense Forces also killed another nine Al-Shabaab fighters in an operation in the Warman area in the Lower Shabelle region where they were trying to organize terrorist activities secretly. However, three government soldiers were killed in the Warmahan fighting, according to the statement by the ministry of information.

The Somali government said the operations have so far killed more than 200 Al-Shabaab insurgents and driven them from almost 30 areas they had taken control of.

The statement also added that the operations were still ongoing and a comprehensive statement would be released once the offensives against the group come to an end.
