SNA, Jubbaland forces delivers relief aid to residents of Afmadow

GOOBJOOG NEWS | JUBBALAND: The Somali National Army (SNA) forces together with the Jubbaland State Forces Thursday delivered relief to residents of Afmadow district who have been affected by floods.

The forces delivered various crucial items including; foodstuff, water, blankets and medicine to the affected people in the city and also evacuated residents who had been marooned by floods to safer areas.

The Afmadow district is one of the areas under the administration of Jubbaland, a federal member state of Somalia. The district has been facing recurrent floods due to the seasonal rains that cause the Juba River to break its banks causing the floods.

The National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) of Somalia has also provided relief to some of the regions in the country that have been affected by the floods.

The national humanitarian agency at the same time appealed for more support from the international community and humanitarian organizations to help the flood victims.
