GOOBJOOG NEWS/JOWHAR: The Somali National Army (SNA) has killed over 100 Al-Shabaab terrorists in Hiran, Middle Shabelle and Lower Shabelle regions in the last three days, State Media confirms.

The SNA launched a special security operation in the region where 12 hideouts belonging to the Al-Shabaab militants were destroyed.

SNA’s Force Commander Gen. Odawa Rage Yusuf, had earlier in the week told State Media that SNA, together with its ‘partner forces,’ had launched airstikes against Al-Shabaab in Hiran region, causing the deaths of at least 60 members of the terror group.

Gen. Rage Yusuf’s statement was corroborated by the U.S Africa Command, after it issued a press release saying that together with the Federal Government of Somalia, had launched airstrikes against Al-Shabaab insurgents ”after they attacked partner forces’ in Dububle.

The latest assault on Al-Shabaab comes as a huge relief, since the group’s frequent attacks in the country have almost led to a crippled electoral process.
