SNA soldier shot dead by armed men in Beletweyne
GOOBJOOG NEWS|BELETWEYNE: Reports from Beledweyne town, the regional capital of Hiran region in central Somalia say that armed men shot and killed a member of the Somali Armed Forces on Friday night, in the town of Beltweyne.
Shuute Abdullahi, a member of the 27th Division of the Somali National Army, 5th Battalion and a well-known government soldier in Beletweyne, was shot dead by the unknown people who fled the scene immediately after the killing.
HirShabelle security forces are said to have arrived shortly thereafter and removed the body of one of their own and conducted a search for the perpetrators, although no arrests were made.
Beledweyne has been the scene of a string of killings in the recent past, with the latest assassination being that of the late MP Amina Abdi, who was killed by a suicide bomber as she was campaigning for her re-election.
