SNA, US forces kill five Al-shabaab militants at Galgudud

GOOBJOOG NEWS | GALMUDUG: Somali National Army’s Danab commandos killed five Al-Shabaab militants in a joint operation with the US Africa Command and injured several others 35 kilometers South of Galgad town in Galgudud region.

According to the Federal Government of Somalia’s Deputy Information Minister Abdirahman Yusuf Adala, the forces also destroyed the terrorist bases in the area.

The operation comes amidst plans by the Federal Government to launch the second phase of the war against the Al-shabaab in the Southwest and Southern parts of the country.

Yesterday, Somali National Army backed by the Djiboutian Contingent under the African Transition in Somalia foiled terrorist bomb attack at Dab-and Dhagah base near the airport of Bula-burte town in Hiiraan region.

The deputy minister added that the SNA, regional forces, and international partners are committed to eradicating terrorists throughout the country.

SNA-Commander in Hiiraan, Farah Ali Wasage visited Bardhabaq area near Halgan district in the region and urged the local forces to speed up the operation to eliminate the militants promising that the Somali National Army forces will support their efforts.
