Somali Army, Allied Militia Seize Villages in Central Somalia in Joint Operations
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MUDUG: The Somali National Army with the backing of the allied Maawisley militia conducted sweeping operations in several villages in southern Mudug region in central Somalia Monday.
Multiple reports said the force took control of villages in the area and pushed away Al-Shabaab militants. The militants fled towards parts of Harardhere district.
The operations took place in the areas of Barag Hurdaye, Gal Dhagaweyne, and Tawar Mooge villages in Mudug region.
The allied forces have recaptured several towns and villages in central Somalia since the operation began in July 2022.
