Somali government announces killing of 20 Al-Shabaab fighters in Yasoman, Hiiraan region

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Somali government has announced the killing of 20 Al-Shabaab terrorists by the National Army, with the help of local militia, in Yasoman Village, Hiiraan region.

This is after the Al-Shabaab terrorists attempted to attack an army base near Yasoman village in the early hours of Wednesday.

The government forces are said to have got wind of a possible attack from locals, and with the help of clan militias in the region, staged a fierce response, leading to the killing of the 20 Al-Shabaab fighters.

The government added that the Somali National Army also suffered a loss after three of its gallant soldiers were martyred in the fighting.
