Somali Leaders Laud Strong Ties with China at 75th Anniversary Celebration

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali leaders have praised China’s support for Somalia as it continues its progress of rebuilding and stabilizing the country.

The leaders including Somali Parliament Speaker Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur, acting Prime Minister Salah Jama, ministers, MPs and foreign ambassadors made the remarks during the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Somalia Tuesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama in his remarks highlighted the strong historical ties between Somalia and China, stressing cooperation in business, economy, and culture.

Jama acknowledged China’s key role in Somalia’s infrastructure development, particularly in energy, health, and education, and pointed to future collaborations in defense, technology, and professional training.

Chinese Ambassador Wang Yu also reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening the relationship between the two nations, thanking the attendees for their participation.
