Somali National Army Seize Two Key Villages in Lower Juba
GOOBJOOG NEWS/LOWER JUBA: Somali National Army seized two villages in the Lower Juba region Wednesday morning as the military heightens offensives against Al-Shabaab.
The forces took control of Harbole and Welmaro villages in the Lower Juba region following an offensive in the early hours of Wednesday according to military sources.
The capture of the two villages is critical for the army as it helps clear the way linking the capital Kismayo and Afmadow which is located in the northeastern side.
Meanwhile US Joint Special Operations-Somalia Commander Col. David J. Haskell met with Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe where they discussed the ongoing military operations and plans for cooperation in the war against Al-Shabaab.
