 Somali police commander holds meeting with UAE officials

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali Police Force commander General Sulub Ahmed Firin today held talks with United Arab Emirate government officials in Mogadishu.

Brigadier Sulub Ahmed welcomed UAE’s ambassador Ahmed Jima Al-Ramisi where the two discussed how the two countries will collaborate in strengthening the capacity of the Somali police force to enable it effectively play its role of maintaining peace in Somalia.

The police force commander thanked the Ambassador for pledging to support the Somali police saying this will positively impact the people of Somalia.

The pledge by the UAE to help equip the Somali Police force comes a few days after the Italian government donated vehicles to be used by the force in its duties.

Speaking during the event Italian Ambassador Roberto Vechi affirmed Italy’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government of Somalia in its fight against the Al-Shabaab terror group.
