Somali Police Force Targets Professionals in New Recruitment Drive 

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali police force has announced plans to recruit new officers targeting recruits from a wide education qualification in a bid to enhance its capabilities to handle security challenges in the country.

In a departure from the traditional recruitment method, the drive seeks to recruit graduates in various fields including; law, computer science, economics, accounting, leadership and Master of Science programs.

This reflects the force’s move to counter new threats such as cyber and economic crimes which is among emerging challenges facing law enforcement across the globe.

The federal government of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has maintained his commitment to upgrade the capacity of national security forces to adequately handle threats facing the country.
