Somalia Condemns Killing of Haniyeh, Says a Violation of International Law

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali government has condemned the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniye by Israel terming a violation of international law.

In a statement Wednesday night, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the condemnation following the assassination of Haniye in Iran by Israel.

“The Federal Republic of Somalia condemns the assassination on Wednesday by the Israeli entity of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement in Iranian capital, Tehran in violation of international law and international humanitarian law,” the statement read in part.

Clerics meeting for their annual meeting in Mogadishu also condemned the killing of the Hamas leader.

Somalia joins many countries especially in the Arab world which have condemned the killing of Haniyeh.
