GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has deployed a contingent of police officers to various frontlines across the country to bolster ongoing efforts against Al-Shabaab.

Speaking at a farewell ceremony in Mogadishu on Monday, Somalia’s Police Force Commander, Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi, commended the officers for their bravery and urged them to view their mission as a sacred duty, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

“Al-Shabaab are frightened young men with no regard for life, resorting to suicide bombings to spread fear. But you stand with a nation that supports you and leaders committed to ensuring your rights. Let this fight be an act of devotion as you work to free your people and your land from the enemy. I wish you victory,” he said.

The deployed officers have undergone extensive training to enhance their combat readiness and are now fully equipped to track down militants, reinforcing President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud’s government’s mission to eliminate Al-Shabaab’s reign of terror against Somali civilians.
