Somalia Joins Global Rights Talks Focused on Migration Challenges
GOOBJOOG NEWS | GENEVA: A delegation from National Independent Human Rights Commission is taking part in an international conference of human rights institutions at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, with discussions centring on global migration challenges.
The three-day meeting has brought together rights bodies from across the world to address pressing issues, including irregular migration and its impact, particularly in Africa.
The Somali delegation is led by Chairperson Maryam Qasim Ahmed, alongside Deputy Chair Mohamed Harun Mahmoud and Commissioner Farhan Mohamed Jimale.
The delegation is expected to hold bilateral meetings with UN agencies and regional organisations, including those in the Horn of Africa, aimed at strengthening cooperation on human rights and migration-related issues.
