GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The federal government of Somalia has moved to accelerate implementation of its new anti-corruption strategy after the justice minister met senior officials from federal member states to coordinate next steps.
Justice Minister Hassan Moallim Mahmoud hosted directors-general and senior representatives from regional administrations in Mogadishu, with talks focusing on developing a joint implementation plan and fast-tracking priority reforms under the 2026–2030 strategy.
The meeting resulted in agreement to strengthen coordination between federal and state institutions, with an emphasis on aligning policies and improving oversight mechanisms.
Participants also pledged to enhance cooperation and proposed measures to improve the effectiveness of the strategy, particularly through better monitoring and accountability.
Mahmoud said closer collaboration across all levels of government would be critical to ensuring the strategy delivers tangible results, adding that the ministry would take a leading role in guiding implementation.
The move marks a shift from policy design to execution, as Somalia seeks to address longstanding governance challenges and strengthen public sector integrity.
