Somalia, U.S. Agree To Expand Cooperation on Media and Public Awareness
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia and the United States have agreed to deepen cooperation on media development, public awareness and counter-terrorism communication following talks in Mogadishu, officials said.
Information Minister Da’ud Aweis Jama and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Justin Davis reached an understanding to strengthen joint efforts in building media capacity and enhancing strategic communication to support peace and stability.
The two sides also agreed to collaborate on promoting Somalia’s arts, culture and tourism sectors, viewing them as key drivers of recovery and long-term economic growth.
The meeting signals closer coordination between Mogadishu and Washington in using media and public engagement as tools to counter extremism and support national development.
