Somaliland elects three lawmakers in Mogadishu today

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Somaliland delegates have on Saturday in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, elected three Members of Parliament including one female to the House of the Federal Parliament. 

The elections saw the emergence of new entrants into the House of the People of the Somali Federal Government.

Abdiwahab Abdi Omar won seat HOP 270 after he received 97 votes, trouncing his  rival contender, Muna Ahmed Diriye.

The third seat, HOP 226, was contested by Maryan Mohamed Isse and Khadija Ali Warsame.

Maryan Mohamed Isse emerged the winner after she received 95 votes following a vote by show of hands with 3 abstentions.

Dr Mohamed Elmi Ibrahim, clinched the HOP 218 seat, after receiving 98 votes by show of hands with 6 abstentions.
